Ponytailers. A handful of 10-12mm hand-crafted beads on an elastic band (thick or thin), $18-20. Scarf tubes hold a fine scarf "just so," without knots that wrinkle or distort the fabric and make the ends stick out at odd angles. Instead, a lightweight twist of polished metal holds the ends crossed at whatever height you put it. Available in Sterling silver, copper or 14-kt. gold-filled wire. $12 each. Leashes (or keepers or cords, or whatever you call them) for eyeglasses, sunglasses, or ID badges. Seven smooth-as-silk hand-crafted polymer clay beads knotted at intervals on a soft fiber cord. I keep one on my "computer glasses" so I can tell them from my driving glasses, and playing with the beads is a way better habit than playing with your hair! $30.

Barrettes. I don't have too many on hand, but am glad to make them to order. $15 to $25, depending on the complexity. Scarf buckles ($20 each) are for more loosely woven and fluffier scarves. They work like two-pronged hair sticks.
